Hilton Armstrong dominated inside, scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots and Connecticut beat Big East newcomer Cincinnati, 70-59, on Monday night in Hartford, Conn., snapping the Bearcats’ 10-game win streak.

It was the second straight game Armstrong came up big in the middle for the fourth-ranked Huskies (13-1, 1-1 Big East), a charter member of the conference that began in 1979. The Bearcats (13-3, 2-1) made the move to the conference looking for a tougher schedule and the Huskies accommodated with bruising, physical play.

It was their only regular season conference meeting. The game was the second meeting between the two programs. Connecticut beat Cincinnati 96-91 in the second round of the 1995 NCAA Tournament.
