During a league conference call last week, EWU coach Mike Burns responded to a question about all-everything freshman Rodney Stuckey: “Well, he’s kind of waiting on the table, busing the table and he’s back in the kitchen cooking the food.” Stuckey then went out and set a school record and conference freshman record with 45 points at NAU, scoring 23 points in the final 8 minutes. … Other conference highs set last week were Marvin Moss’ 15 rebounds for Montana State, Josh Wilson’s 13 assists for Northern Arizona (after none against EWU) and Slim Millien’s seven blocks for Idaho State. … Eastern commits a conference-worst 18.9 turnovers and gives up the most points (77.7). EWU has allowed 92.6 points a game in losing five straight. … After losing at Montana State, Weber suspended Terrell Stovall and Chancey Shelton for the game at Montana for violating team rules. … Max Media of Montana has purchased the rights to televise the conference tournament semifinals on March 7. The championship on March 8 is on ESPN 2. … Montana is 10th in the Mid-Major poll.
