The WCC will make its second appearance on ESPN’s “Big Monday” next week with a matchup that features this week’s co-WCC players of the week – Gonzaga’s Adam Morrison and Loyola Marymount’s Matthew Knight. Morrison, the nation’s leading NCAA Division-I scorer, was honored for the third time this season after scoring 59 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in road wins over Saint Mary’s and Santa Clara. Knight averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds as the Lions opened WCC play with home wins over San Diego and San Francisco. … Gonzaga leads the nation in free-throw accuracy, having converted 81.5 percent (295 of 362) of its attempts. … GU point guard Derek Raivio, who has made 43 of 45 free throws, is the No. 1 foul shooter in the country with a percentage of 95.6. … GU has won 10 consecutive WCC openers. The last time the Zags were 0-1 in conference play was in 1995-96 after dropping their opener at Santa Clara, 72-61. … Saint Mary’s senior forward Daniel Kickert has started 109 games and needs four more starts to become the Gaels’ all-time leader in that category.
