Interplayers stages ‘Mockingbird’ as part of readers theater series

The Interplayers Theatre continues its readers theater series this week with “To Kill a Mockingbird,” adapted from the acclaimed Harper Lee novel.

Readers theater performances feature actors reading directly from scripts. There are no props, costumes or sets.

“To Kill a Mockingbird” tells the story of Atticus Finch and his daughter Scout in the South of the 1950s. Scout learns important lessons about life and Finch, a lawyer, stands up against racial injustice

Ann Whiteman directs.

The show opens tonight at 7:30 and continues Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. and Monday at 3 p.m. The Monday performance is a benefit for the Gonzaga University Carl Maxey Scholarship Fund.
