Today’s craft
There’s nothing like a hand-embroidered monogram to transform ordinary linens or an article of clothing into something special. That’s what makes a monogrammed item a truly exceptional (and personal) gift.
What you need
Now it’s easy to treat yourself (or someone special) to a little personalized luxury. A new, 64-page guidebook, “Embroidered Monograms & More,” features 15 alphabets and 34 project ideas ranging from pillowcases and table linens to baby clothes and a photo album.
The book includes 18 pages of iron-on transfers—all 15 alphabets and several borders and design motifs —plus full-color photographs of the embroidered designs with materials lists. Just select the monogram or design you want to use, iron them on and add stitches.
If you’re a beginner or need to refresh your memory, a section of general embroidery instructions plus a four-page stitch guide (with illustrations) make it easy to get started. A short guide to monograms plus iron-on transfer instructions round out the collection.
In addition to the 15 alphabets, designs include “Scotties” (pictured), “Card Party,” “Shower of Flowers,” “Basket of Flowers,” “Needle Art,” “Kitchen Stitches,” “Very Vintage” and five others.
