Johnson scores 25 points, G-Prep hands Ferris first loss
The Gonzaga Bullpups handed the Ferris Saxons their first boys basketball loss of the season Friday night as Michael Johnson hit five 3-pointers and scored 25 points and Beau Azadganian added 21 in a 75-57 decision at G-Prep (8-3, 3-1).
G-Prep outrebounded the Saxons 39-23, including 15 offensive rebounds.
Jon Clift hit four 3-pointers and scored 27, 14 in the first quarter, but it wasn’t enough for Ferris (11-1, 3-1).
Mead 57, Lewis and Clark 52
Brendan Ingebritsen had 21 points and three 3-pointers as the Panthers (4-6, 2-2) overcame a slow start to beat the Tigers (2-9, 1-3) at Hunter Fieldhouse.
T.J. Lee-Hill led LC with 22, but sprained his ankle in the fourth quarter and didn’t return.
Mead trailed 12-6 after one quarter, but rebounded with a 36-25 advantage over the middle two quarters to grab the lead.
Mt. Spokane 67, East Valley 48
The Wildcats (7-4, 2-2) hit 55 percent of their shots, and were led by Matt Dorr’s 20 and 14 from Calvin McManus as they knocked off the Knights (3-8, 0-4) at East Valley.
Dylan Sattin hit three 3-pointers and scored 13 points to pace East Valley while Josh Peck added 10 points.
The Knights shot only 36 percent from the floor.
West Valley 70, Cheney 38
Three players in double figures led the Eagles (9-2, 3-1) past the visiting Blackhawks (3-8, 1-3).
Tyler Hobbs had 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals for WV. Greg Bradley (15) and Arton Toussaint (11) combined for 26 points.
Shadle Park 58, Rogers 49
Zack Humphrey was 9 for 9 from the line on the way to 22 points, and Josh Landsverk added 16 for the Highlanders (8-3, 4-0) in a win at home over the Pirates (5-6, 1-3)
Scotty Livengood had 21 for Rogers, which trailed by as many as 19 in the third quarter.
