Lightning chase Turco, double up Dallas

Brad Richards’ short-handed tally triggered Tampa Bay’s four-goal, first-period flurry, and the Lightning went on to defeat the Stars 6-3 on Friday night in Dallas.

Tampa Bay scored on four of its first six shots against Marty Turco, who was pulled at 12:35 in favor of Johan Hedberg.

Turco, who missed the previous game because of a groin injury, was removed for the third time in six starts.

Turco has allowed eight goals in the past 21 shots he’s faced.

Blue Jackets 4, Blues 3 (SO): At Columbus, Ohio, Rick Nash’s shootout goal gave the Blue Jackets a victory over St. Louis and stretched the Blues’ losing streak to nine.

The victory improved Columbus to 4-2 in shootouts. The Blues fell to 1-4 and lost for the second consecutive night in a shootout.

Wild 4, Blackhawks 1: At St. Paul, Minn., rookie defenseman Kurtis Foster had a goal and assist, and Manny Fernandez made 31 saves to lift Minnesota to a victory over Chicago.

Kyle Wanvig, Marian Gaborik and Randy Robitaille also scored for Minnesota, which has won two straight.

Duncan Keith scored for Chicago, which lost in regulation for the first time in five games.

Blue Jackets defenseman Bryan Berard apologized to his team and the Columbus fans, saying he’s “embarrassed” he’s been suspended from international competition for two years after testing positive for a banned steroid. The test the 28-year-old Berard failed wasn’t part of the NHL’s new testing program that began Sunday, so he will not be subject to league discipline. … Phoenix traded center Petr Nedved to Philadelphia for defenseman Dennis Seidenberg. The trade also gave the Flyers the option of swapping fourth-round draft choices with the Coyotes at this year’s entry draft and third-round choices with the Coyotes in next year’s entry draft. … Chicago traded defenseman Anton Babchuk to Carolina for defenseman Danny Richmond. The teams also swapped draft picks. Chicago sent its fourth-round pick in the 2007 entry draft to the Hurricanes for their fourth-rounder in this year’s draft.
