Relay for Life rally planned for Wednesday
Planners of Spokane Valley’s Relay for Life will hold a rally next week to prepare for this year’s cancer-fighting fund-raiser.
With a goal of raising $75,000 for the American Cancer Society during this year’s relay, planners will meet Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. to prepare for the June 9 and 10 event.
“The rally will be a very low-key event but lots of fun,” said Debi Gallagher, community relations manager for the American Cancer Society. “It will primarily be an informational meeting where those who have been involved can learn what we have planned for this year.”
Spokane Valley’s Relay For Life is one of more than 4,300 relays around the United States. Teams of eight to 15 runners register for the overnight event, which requires at least one person from each team walking around the track at all times.
