Associated Press

Dominik Hasek earned his 67th career shutout, and the Senators’ Pizza Line combined for nine points during a 7-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night in Ottawa.

Hasek, who turns 41 on Jan. 29, made 23 saves for his fourth shutout of the season. He moved ahead of Patrick Roy into a 12th-place tie on the NHL’s career blankings list.

“It’s always nice to have a shutout, but to play in the NHL, it’s not about shutouts, it’s about wins,” Hasek said.

Ottawa’s top line of Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza each had three points. Ed Belfour allowed all seven goals for the Maple Leafs, who lost their season-high fifth straight after winning seven of eight, including a season-best six in a row from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2.

Mike Fisher played delivery boy for the second time this season when he scored the Senators’ sixth goal 14:07 into the second which – combined with the Senators’ win – triggered a restaurant chain’s promotion of a free slice of pizza for everyone in the team-record crowd of 20,093. He added his second of the game in the third period.

It was the 10th time in 23 home games that Ottawa has triggered the promotion, which was raised from five goals to six earlier this season.

Canucks 6, Canadiens 2: At Vancouver, British Columbia, Brendan Morrison scored 57 seconds in and the Canucks netted a team record-tying six goals in the first period en route to a win against Montreal. Vancouver won its fourth straight and seventh in eight games.

Red Wings 4, Avalanche 3: At Denver, Robert Lang broke a tie late in the second period and Detroit killed two 5-on-3 disadvantages in a win over Colorado.

Flames 4, Sabres 1: At Calgary, Alberta, Robyn Regehr’s disputed second-period goal helped the Flames beat Buffalo.

Calgary was on a two-man power play when Daymond Langkow’s shot hit Regehr’s skate in front of Buffalo’s net and caromed into the goal. Sabres goalie Martin Biron immediately argued that Regehr kicked the puck in, making an animated kicking motion with his leg for emphasis while making his case to the officials. But the goal stood after a video review.

Coyotes 4, Oilers 3 (SO): At Glendale, Ariz., Ladislav Nagy and Geoff Sanderson scored in the shootout to lift Phoenix to a victory over Edmonton.

Oleg Saprykin sent the game into overtime when he gathered a rebound in front of the crease, pivoted around Oilers defenseman Chris Pronger and fired the puck past Jussi Markkanen with 3:41 remaining.

The Oilers lost for the fourth time in five games.

Devils 3, Islanders 2 (SO): At East Rutherford, N.J., Zach Parise scored in the fifth round of the shootout, extending New Jersey’s winning streak to nine games with a victory over New York. The Devils’ franchise record for consecutive wins is 13.

Sharks 4, Kings 3 (OT): At Los Angeles, Patrick Marleau’s power-play goal with 8.9 seconds left in overtime lifted San Jose to a victory over the Kings.

San Jose’s Joe Thornton forced overtime by scoring with 29 seconds remaining in regulation.

Rangers 3, Bruins 2 (SO): At Boston, Petr Sykora scored in the sixth round of the shootout to lift New York to a victory over the Bruins.

The Rangers improved to 5-1 in the shootout – including 3-0 on the road – while Boston dropped to 0-4.

Capitals 5, Hurricanes 2: At Washington, Olie Kolzig made 31 saves, Matt Pettinger and Brooks Laich both had a goal and an assist, and the last-place but suddenly surging Capitals stretched their winning streak to four with a victory over Carolina that snapped the Hurricanes’ nine-game victory run.

Flyers 2, Penguins 1: At Pittsburgh, playing in his first game in more than a month, Robert Esche made 32 saves and helped Philadelphia snap a four-game losing streak with a win over the Penguins. Pittsburgh has lost nine straight and 10 of its past 11.

Lightning 2, Thrashers 0: At Atlanta, Vincent Lecavalier and Fredrik Modin scored for Tampa Bay, and John Grahame shut out the Thrashers for the second time this season in a victory that lifted the Lightning back into second place in the Southeast Division.

Tampa Bay won its third in a row, while the Thrashers have lost two straight after winning seven of eight.

Predators 7, Blue Jackets 2: At Nashville, Tenn., Scott Hartnell had two goals and an assist, and teammate Paul Kariya also scored twice to lead the Predators to a win over Columbus.

Mighty Ducks 1, Panthers 0: At Anaheim, Calif., Chris Kunitz’s goal 29 seconds into the game held up as the Mighty Ducks beat Florida. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 30 saves for Anaheim.
