Tech Q&A The Spokesman-Review

Q: I would like to switch my phone service to voice over Internet protocol. But if I do, how can I get my number listed?

A: Start by asking your VoIP provider. It may be able to do the job free. If not, speak to your local phone company’s directory department. You will probably have to pay for the privilege of being listed. If the people with whom you speak are unfamiliar with VoIP, say you want a foreign listing. They should be able to take it from there. Incidentally, this also works for cell phones.
