Cougs hold higher hopes with Low’s rehabilitation
PULLMAN – Washington State University point guard Derrick Low’s rehabilitation is proceeding well, according to head coach Dick Bennett.
Low broke his right foot in practice on Jan. 3 and was expected to miss at least six weeks, probably more. But if Low’s recovery continues to go well, it’s possible the Cougars could get him back at or slightly before that six-week mark, according to Bennett.
“We’re thinking we’re going to have him for the last six games,” Bennett said, a span that would begin with a mid-February trip to Oregon and continue through the final three weeks of regular-season play, plus the Pac-10 tournament and any postseason action.
Low, a sophomore from Honolulu, had been WSU’s top scorer when he was injured.
