Hotels offer winter specials

Several hotels are offering special winter rates, and a few are throwing in gift cards as well:

“Hyatt Hotels & Resorts is offering a $50 gift card to guests who reserve and pay for their stays with an American Express card. The offer is valid at participating properties in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean for stays through Feb. 28.

Reservations must be at Hyatt.com using offer code HYCARD. Guests will earn one gift card per room per stay.

“Participating Fairmont Hotels in Canada are offering special rates through April 30. In addition, guests who book rooms before Tuesday for stays of two or more nights will receive a food and beverage credit worth $43.

Sample nightly rates include $108 at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria; $125, Fairmont Palliser, Calgary; and $176, Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, Montreal. Contact: (800) 262-1600, www.fairmont.com/winter.

“Guests who stay at a Holiday Inn will receive free breakfast and a $10 Home Depot gift card when they pay with a Visa card. The offer is valid at U.S. locations through April 30.

Breakfast is available at the hotel’s restaurant, with a limit of $20 per room per day. Guests will receive one mail-in voucher for a Home Depot gift card per room per stay.

“Wyndham is offering a Weekend 50/50 Package, giving travelers 50 percent off their choice of a second night or a second room. The offer is valid at participating Wyndham Hotels, Wyndham Garden Hotels and Wyndham Historic Hotels in the U.S. and Toronto for stays through Dec. 31.

“Loews’ Winter WonderLoews promotion offers discounted rates for stays at properties in the U.S. and Canada. Sample nightly rates include $109 at Quebec City; $159, Chicago; and $179, San Diego.

“Hawthorn Suites have winter rates starting at $69 per night. The offer is valid for studio or one-bedroom suites for stays through Feb. 28. Most rates are valid for stays Thursday through Sunday night. Contact: (800) 527-1133, www.hawthorn.com/specials.
