The Spokesman-Review

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Charles Frederick caught five of Kyle Rowley’s six touchdown passes Saturday night as the Spokane Shock clinched a playoff spot with a 46-23 win over the Arkansas Twisters in arenafootball2 play at Alltel Arena.

The fourth-ranked Shock improved to 10-2 and dropped the fifth-ranked Twisters to 8-5.

Frederick finished with 15 receptions for 144 yards, including a 16-yard TD late in the first quarter that gave Spokane the lead for good.

“It just felt good to get back out there,” said Frederick, who missed the Shock’s previous game because of a family issue. “The crowd got behind me – I don’t know why – and it just pumped me up.”

Rowley, drawing his first start, completed 32 of 41 passes for 243 yards and no interceptions.

Spokane’s Rob Keefe intercepted Walter Church twice in the fourth quarter to preserve the win.

The Shock outscored the Twisters 13-0 in the fourth quarter on Rowley’s 2-yard TD pass to Antwone Savage and a 10-yard hookup with Frederick.

Jesse Hendrix had six solo tackles and one assist for Spokane.

The Twisters, who had 44 sacks heading into the game, didn’t register their first sack until the third quarter.

Shock coach Chris Siegfried picked up his 50th career win.
