Sale will benefit Whitman Library

Rainey Coffin The Spokesman-Review

Beginning Thursday, join the Friends of the Whitman County Library and be a part of its largest fundraising event of the year.

The sale, in the meeting room of the Colfax Branch, 102 S. Main, will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Items for sale include books, movies and CDs starting as low as 10 cents per item.

The proceeds will be used for library activities such as summer reading programs, adult reading programs and newborn baby packets for neighboring hospitals.

Last year’s sale brought in almost $2,500.

If you’d like to start shopping early, a “Friends Only” sale will take place on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

By joining the Friends of the Library, shoppers can gain early access to the library sale.

Cost is $10 for individuals and $25 for booksellers.

The 2006 members of the Rapid Refill Ink team are asking customers to donate $1 or more at the time of purchase to support this fundraising event.

Last year the team raised more than $120,000, and the goal this year is to raise $200,000.
