WENATCHEE, Wash. – Jeremy Hefner pitched 6 2/3 innings, gave up one run, struck out six and scattered four hits as the Spokane RiverHawks beat the Wenatchee AppleSox 3-1 in West Coast Collegiate Baseball League play.
Paul Martin was 2 for 3 with two walks and one run scored for the RiverHawks (12-4), who remain in first place, one game ahead of the Aloha Knights.
A.J. Proszek got the final two outs to pick up his first save of the season for Spokane.
The RiverHawks play Wenatchee (9-7) in Game 2 of the three-game series tonight at 7.
