AppleSox roll to win over RiverHawks
WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Wenatchee AppleSox scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to even the three-game series at one game apiece and defeat the Spokane RiverHawks 6-4 Tuesday night in West Coast Collegiate Baseball League play.
In the seventh inning, Hawkins Gebbers doubled for the AppleSox (10-7) and Jesse Roehl was walked. Dustin Colclough reached base on a fielding error to load the bases. Mike Crowder was walked and a run scored. Tyler McCallum followed with a 3-run double to give Wenatchee the lead it never surrendered. The final run of the inning was scored by McCallum on a John Whitehall single.
Cale Ort finished 4 for 4 and drove in one run for the RiverHawks (12-5), who remain in first place. Brent Mertens was 2 for 4, including a double, one RBI and one run scored. The RiverHawks finish their series at Wenatchee tonight at 7 p.m.
