Shoreline’s Burrus hired by CCS athletics

Kenneth Burrus, director of athletics and intramurals at Shoreline Community College in Seattle, has been named district director of athletics, physical education and recreation at Community Colleges of Spokane.

Burrus will begin his new duties on Aug. 23. He replaces Maury Ray, who retired in December.

Burrus joined Shoreline in 1986 as an assistant men’s basketball coach.

Burrus holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and kinesiology from the University of Washington as well as a master’s degree in physical education, teaching and performance enhancement from Western Washington University.
