Students plan fundraising shows
Local performers headed to an international talent competition will benefit from a pair of fundraising shows at The Met over the coming week.
Eighteen area students from Coeur d’Alene-based Ain’t It Good Productions are training to participate in the World Championships of Performing Arts next month in Hollywood. Competitors are selected by talent scouts from more than 40 countries.
On Saturday, all of the performers – including actors, singers, dancers and models – will put on a show titled “Evening With Stars” at 7:30 p.m. at The Met, 901 W. Sprague Ave. A silent auction will precede the show. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for children 12 and under.
Next Thursday, Ain’t It Good will present a dinner theater production of the comedy “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” at The Met. A dinner catered by Luigi’s Italian Restaurant begins at 6 p.m., along with live music and a silent auction, followed by the show at 7:30. Tickets are $75.
Proceeds benefit the Galal Foundation, which provides scholarships to support student training. For tickets or more information, call (888) 637-1648.
