Marlins 7, Mets 3: At New York, Dontrelle Willis hit a grand slam and pitched effectively into the eighth inning, leading Florida to a victory over New York.

Reds 10, Braves 5: At Atlanta, Cincinnati put a decisive end to its six-game losing streak, scoring eight runs in the second inning to beat Atlanta.

Cardinals 8, Astros 2: At Houston, Jason Marquis shut down Houston for his 11th win and pinch-hitter John Rodriguez homered to give St. Louis the victory.
