‘Technicolor Dreamcoat’
The new Christian Community Theater, a division of the Christian Youth Theater, is presenting “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” Wednesday through July 23 at Spokane Community College’s Lair aditorium.
Performers with the Christian Youth Theater, which has been producing plays and musicals in Spokane since 1998, must be between the ages of 6 and 18. The Christian Community Theater accepts performers of all ages.
Curtain time is 7 p.m. Wednesday through next Saturday, with 3 p.m. matinees next Saturday and July 23. Admission is $10 for reserved seating.

Drama team
The Pensacola Christian College Drama Team will perform today at 7 p.m. at Arden Faith Baptist Church, 673 Arden Hill Road, Colville.
The performance will include music, inspirational dramatic presentations and a DVD movie about the Florida college, which offers programs for undergraduate, graduate and seminary students.

Clean and sober seminar
The Unity Center, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, is presenting Dr. Howard Peiper, a nutritionist, today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Peiper will discuss nutritional choices on the road to recovery from alcohol abuse.

Sunny Sundays picnic
Sunny Sundays, a group of single women of all ages from St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, is holding a public picnic at Comstock Park, 29th Avenue and Howard Street, on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The group is serving fried chicken, potato salad, fruit and ice cream.
Anyone attending this free picnic is asked to bring a favorite family-friendly joke to share.

Buddhist open house
The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., is holding an open house today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event, in conjunction with the South Perry Summer Street Fair, will include a class, “An Introduction to Buddhism,” at 2 p.m., which will include information about the Jodo-Shinshu tradition, what to expect at services and some Buddhist history.

Heritage Congregational Church, 1801 E. 29th Ave., is holding an all-church picnic after its 10 a.m. service Sunday.
Joining the church for its service and picnic is the DeCycles Ministry Team, an interdenominational youth group that offers summer bicycle trips.

Vacation Bible schools
•Chattaroy Community Church, 3711 E. Chattaroy Road, is presenting “Son Treasure Island” July 24 though 28 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Activities for kids ages 4 through the sixth grade include music, crafts, skits and Bible stories.
The youth will present a musical program July 27 at 7 p.m. at the church.

•New Hope Christian Reform Church, 3110 W. Francis Ave., is presenting “Treasure Cove” Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Kids in kindergarten through the sixth grade can go on a treasure hunt to find Jesus, listen to Bible stories, play games, and participate in crafts and music.
The week will wrap up Friday at 6 p.m. with a barbecue on the church lawn featuring Caribbean music from Moko Jumbie.
