Liberty Lake SCOPE – A representative from the Liberty Lake Police Department spoke on patrol safety and business checks. A speaker from the Valley Girl Triathlon spoke about volunteer needs. SCOPE members discussed the need to recruit new volunteers. (Source: President Rob Hill)

Edgecliff SCOPE – Volunteers discussed upcoming elections in September. They are finishing paperwork required to have three long-term Americorps volunteers to assist with SCOPE’s offender reentry program that helps offenders recently released from jail and their family get acclimated into the community. Volunteers recently donated 750 pounds of clothing to the Spokane Valley Community Center clothing bank. They also discussed expanding their walking school bus program, which provides volunteers to walk children to school. Volunteers also are planning to participate in neighborhood events on Aug. 2 as part of the “Night Out Against Crime.” (Source: President Rick Scott)
