Music, movie sale planned at Panida
Sandpoint’s Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., will hold its annual “Play It Again” music and movie sale on July 29.
Recycled CDs, DVDs, videos and cassettes will be for sale on the sidewalk in front of the theater. If you would like to make a donation, the Panida is accepting gently used items (no vinyl LPs, please).
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the theater’s high school scholarship for the performing arts.

Annual golf tournament
On Saturday, the second annual Public Employees Golf Tournament will be held at the Fairways Golf Club in Cheney.
Spokane public employees, families and friends are invited to participate.
Cost of the event is $55 per person, which includes cart rental, greens fees and lunch. Tee-time is at 8 a.m.
Proceeds benefit the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

Benefit marathon
On July 30, the Spokane Inland Skate Association will host its third annual Centennial Trail Skate Marathon and 10K.
The North Mirabeau Centennial Trail trailhead in the Spokane Valley will be the starting point for the race, which will end near the YMCA in the Valley.
The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. for the 26-mile marathon and the 10K race will begin at 7:45.
There will be refreshments, drawings and awards at the YMCA picnic shelter after the race.
Registration fees are $40 for the marathon, $25 for the 10K ($20 without T-shirt). There is a discount of $5 for youths 13 and under. Proceeds benefit the Spokane River Centennial Trail and the Friends of the Centennial Trail.

Celebrating cowboys
Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, the North Idaho Fair and Rodeo Foundation will host the National Day of the Cowboy.
Held in the Jacklin Building at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, the event includes a live and silent auction, free dance lessons and a concert.
Proceeds will be used to improve the North Idaho Fair and Rodeo Events Center.
