SCRAPS receives national donations

The Spokesman-Review

The county’s animal protection agency received some extra funds last week from two national organizations.

The Anderlik Compassion for Animals Fund donated $1,000 to help cover extra medical costs at the Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service shelter. The PETCO Foundation also donated $840, said SCRAPS Director Nancy Hill.

“We are fortunate that our local PETCO and the Anderliks think of us when they distribute funds,” Hill said.

Several animals have needed veterinary care this year, which has brought increased medical expenses, Hill said.

The money from the two donations will go to the Animal Medical Fund, which will help heal animals and ready them for adoption rather than have them euthanized, Hill said.
