Hope 2006

North Country Chapel in Post Falls is presenting Hope 2006 on Friday at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, 4056 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene.

Pastor Jeff Figgs of Greeley, Colo., will speak. The event will also features Lindale and the North Country Praise Band.

Choir concert

The New Heaven Church of the Assemblies of God, 2910 W. Beacon Ave., will present the Levite Choir of Seoul, South Korea, today and Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

There also will be a Sunday concert at 11:30 a.m. featuring a children’s choir and violin soloist Hee Chan Cang.

Outdoor concert

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Road, will present its second summer concert in the churchyard Wednesday at 7 p.m. with a performance by the Dixie Dandies, led by trombonist-vocalist Bruce Davis.

During intermission, there will be a discussion on memory loss diseases.

Audience members should bring a blanket or a chair and any snacks they might want.

Guest pastor

Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 1926 W. Chelan Ave., will present the Rev. Skip Baker-Smith on Sunday during its 9:30 a.m. service.

Baker-Smith has served in Washington and Oregon and has done missionary work for Habitat for Humanity in Americus, Ga., and at Campbell Farm near Yakima.

Vacation Bible school

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett Road, Medical Lake, will offer a vacation Bible school, “Come Hike with Jesus,” Monday through Friday.

Kids ages 3 1/2 through kindergarten will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. First- through sixth-graders will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. on Thursday that will include a program presented by the children.

Activities will involve crafts, games, music and fellowship. Classes will be led by Camp Lutherhaven counselors.

Christian singles

Spokane Christian Singles will offer a speed-dating opportunity today at 7 p.m. at 416 S. Neyland Ave., Liberty Lake.

Singles in their 20s through their 40s are invited to attend. The cost is $10 for the first visit and $7 for subsequent visits.
