Yankees 6, Devil Rays 0: At New York, Chien-Ming Wang shut down Tampa Bay for the second time this month, pitching a two-hitter for his first career shutout as New York blanked Tampa Bay.

White Sox 6, Orioles 4: At Baltimore, Ross Gload hit a grand slam in the ninth off Chris Ray, ruining Erik Bedard’s bid to win his eighth consecutive start and giving Chicago a comeback win over the Orioles.

Tigers 3, Twins 2 (10): At Minneapolis, Craig Monroe’s sharp single down the third-base line in the 10th lifted Detroit over Minnesota, only the Twins’ ninth loss in their last 43 games.

Royals 11, Rangers 3: At Arlington, Texas, newly acquired All-Star slugger Carlos Lee went 2 for 4 in his Texas debut, not enough to keep the Rangers from extending their losing streak to five.

Angels 8, Red Sox 3: At Boston, Kelvim Escobar pitched six solid innings to win for only the second time in 12 starts, and Garret Anderson went 3 for 4 to lead Anaheim past the Red Sox.

Blue Jays 4, Athletics 3: At Oakland, Calif., Alex Rios drove in two runs in his return from the DL and B.J. Ryan recorded a two-inning save, leading Toronto to a 4-3 victory that dropped Oakland into second place in the A.L. West. Oakland’s Frank Thomas hit his 471st career homer.
