At a glance: Summer season
“A Chorus Line” kicks off the season for Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, which includes two traditional 1950s musicals and two more contemporary 1970s shows.
Each of them, says artistic director Roger Welch, has a special appeal.
“I thought they were very well-rounded,” Welch says. ” ‘Chorus Line’ is going back to Broadway this fall so I thought it was timely. It’s a show I think most people really love.”
Here’s the rest of the lineup:
“ “Peter Pan,” July 1-2, 6-9, 13-15, will feature special effects by a Las Vegas company, Flying by Foy.
“ “Pippin,” July 20-23, 26-30, will star Ellen Travolta and Jack Bannon.
“ “The King and I,” Aug. 5-6, 10-13, 17-19, will feature performers from around the country with the right ethnicity for this show.
