Welliver, Van Sickle fight to draw

Spokane’s Chauncy Welliver fought Chad Van Sickle to a draw in a heavyweight boxing match Saturday at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, Wash.

A majority of the three judge panel scored the 10-round fight even, making the decision a majority draw.

Welliver, now 29-3-4, is scheduled to fight Frank Wood for the WBC heavyweight championship in a Pay Per View, co-main event July 29 at Qwest Arena in Boise.

The main event will feature former light heavyweight world champion Roy Jones, Jr., and Prince Badi Ajami.
