People: Time to take off the kid gloves
Lindsay Lohan, who celebrates her 20th birthday next month, says she’s not really ready for a serious boyfriend yet.
“I need to focus on my career and getting my life in order,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar magazine. “My mom married young, but it was a different time.”
Lohan, who starred in such family-friendly movies as “Freaky Friday” and “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” has graduated to more grown-up roles in Robert Altman‘s “A Prairie Home Companion” and the upcoming “Chapter 27,” a film about Mark David Chapman.
“I don’t need to do any more kid movies,” she says. “The word ‘kid’ makes you feel like a child. Someone I dated called me ‘kid’ all the time. I hated that.”
Lohan also wants to be recognized for her acting, not her reported wild-child behavior.
“People like to think that just because I’m young and like to enjoy my life, I’m some crazy party girl,” she says. “I hate the term ‘party girl’ – I hate it.”
The real born identity
Matt Damon and his wife are the parents of their first child, a baby girl named Isabella.
The baby was born Sunday in a Miami hospital, Damon’s publicist said.
The “Bourne Identity” star and Luciana Bozan were married Dec. 9 in New York City in a ceremony attended by the bride’s daughter from a previous marriage, Alexa, then 7.
Georgia Michelle, maybe?
Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka, are expecting their first child.
Bateman, who starred in the Fox comedy series “Arrested Development,” announced on a Los Angeles radio station that Anka is 5 1/2 months pregnant with a baby girl.
He and Anka, an actress and the daughter of singer Paul Anka, were married in July 2001.
Ireland’s eyes aren’t smiling
A judge wants a psychologist to evaluate Alec Baldwin to determine whether he is fit to see his 10-year-old daughter, Ireland, more often.
The issue is whether the actor is trying to turn the child against ex-wife Kim Basinger in their ongoing custody battle.
In October, Basinger’s attorney said Baldwin suffered from “severe emotional problems” and that he had been accused of domestic violence in the past. Baldwin countered in court documents that Basinger “has a pathological need” to turn the girl against him.
Not by a country mile
Britney Spears defends her parenting skills in an interview to be aired on NBC’s “Today” show and “Dateline” on Thursday, insisting: “I know I’m a good mom.”
Spears, pregnant with her second child, drew criticism when she was photographed with her infant son, Sean, sitting on her lap as she drove.
“I did it with my dad. I’d sit on his lap and I drive,” says the Louisiana native. “We’re country.”
