Astros 5, Cubs 4: At Chicago, Roy Oswalt returned from the 15-day disabled list to get his first win since May 3, and Houston collected 11 hits off Greg Maddux.

Rockies 14, Nationals 8: At Washington, Jamey Carroll went 3 for 4 and hit a tiebreaking home run in the sixth, and Garrett Atkins had four RBIs for Colorado.

Marlins 6, Braves 5 (10): At Miami, Florida’s Reggie Abercrombie scored on reliever Mike Remlinger’s throwing error in the bottom of the 10th to defeat Atlanta.

Mets 9, Phillies 3: At Philadelphia, David Wright homered, Carlos Delgado knocked in three runs, and East-leading New York won its seventh straight game.

Giants 11, Diamondbacks 4: At Phoenix, Barry Bonds hit his 717th home run, Steve Finley led off the game with his 300th, and San Francisco beat Arizona to snap a four-game losing streak.

Padres 5, Dodgers 3: At San Diego, Brian Giles scored the go-ahead run from first base on Adrian Gonzalez’s double in the eighth to beat Los Angeles.
