“American Idol” Taylor Hicks is ranked as the No. 1 “hottest bachelor” by People magazine – and he’s looking for love.
The 29-year-old, silver-haired crooner, who tops the list in the issue on newsstands today, says he’d happily give up his bachelor days.
“There’s been no time,” Hicks says of his dating life. “Now, I wouldn’t mind spending the rest of my life with the right woman.”
Hicks also wants to find a woman he exchanged glances with on a recent airline flight. Of the mystery blonde, he says: “We waved and did a double-take look. It seemed like something out of a movie.”
People set up e-mail and mailing addresses for the mystery woman to contact him.
The magazine’s other “hot” bachelors – who weren’t ranked in order – include Matthew McConaughey, Nick Lachey, Jake Gyllenhaal, Kenny Chesney, Ryan Seacrest, Jamie Foxx, Owen Wilson and Wentworth Miller.
It is a lot simpler
Paris Hilton, meanwhile, is enjoying the single life.
The 25-year-old hotel heiress, who stars in the reality show “The Simple Life,” says she’s “single for the first time” these days.
“I always have a boyfriend all the time, so I’ve never really got to know me and, like, have time for myself because I spend all my energy on the boyfriend,” says Hilton, who ended her engagement to one Greek shipping heir, Paris Latsis, last year and recently broke up with another, Stavros Niarchos.
“I’m a very strong woman,” she adds. “I don’t need a man. I can be on my own.”
His heart can’t be tamed
After a month of marriage, director David Lynch has filed for divorce from the mother of his 14-year-old son.
He and film editor/producer Mary Sweeney had worked together on movies including “Blue Velvet,” “Wild at Heart,” “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” and “Mulholland Dr.”
The video game’s up
One of two men who allegedly tried to sell Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez‘s stolen wedding video back to them for $1 million has pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny.
Tito Moses faces 1 1/2 to three years in prison. The video was on a laptop computer in Anthony’s car when it was stolen last October.
Fading fast
A Vietnamese appeals court has upheld the three-year child molestation sentence given to former British glam rocker Gary Glitter.
Glitter, 62, was found guilty of committing obscene acts with girls ages 10 and 11 at his rented seaside villa in southern Vietnam.
The official line
British prosecutors say they have “insufficient evidence” to charge Kate Moss with cocaine use.
The Daily Mirror last fall published pictures of the 32-year-old supermodel apparently using cocaine in a London music studio where her then-boyfriend, Pete Doherty, was recording.
