Furniture Row plans center in Spokane Valley

Christopher Rodkey Staff writer

Denver-based Furniture Row will build the state’s first full-fledged Furniture Row Shopping Center in Spokane Valley, officials said Monday.

The store will be located on Indiana Avenue near the current ITT Technical Institute building and across the street from Mirabeau Point Drive, according to permit information filed with the city. It was unclear Monday when the building will be completed.

The store is slated have about 60,000 square feet of space, and will be consistent with other Furniture Row Shopping Center stores scattered throughout the West. Stores are typically divided into different sections: Sofa Mart, Oak Express, Bedroom Expressions and Denver Mattress.

There is a Furniture Row Outlet store located on North Division Street in Spokane, which doesn’t carry the same mix of products as a full-line store.

Furniture Row representatives at company headquarters in Denver were unavailable for comment Monday.

A Great Floors store opened earlier this year one-quarter mile east on Indiana Avenue.
