Giants 3, Angels 2: At San Francisco, Matt Morris pitched six strong innings and also provided the offense with a two-run double in a win over Los Angeles.

White Sox 20, Cardinals 6: At Chicago, Joe Crede and A.J. Pierzynski homered during an 11-run, 12-hit third inning to rout St. Louis.

Royals 10, Pirates 6: At Kansas City, Mo., David DeJesus and John Buck drove in two runs apiece to beat Pittsburgh in a clash between the two worst teams in the majors.

Marlins 6, Orioles 2: At Baltimore, Florida used a fine pitching performance by Dontrelle Willis and three home runs to beat Baltimore and tie a franchise record with its ninth straight win.

Indians 4, Cubs 2: At Cleveland, Cliff Lee allowed one earned run and six hits in 7 2/3 innings and the Indians snapped a four-game losing streak by beating Greg Maddux and Chicago.

Red Sox 11, Nationals 3: At Boston, Tim Wakefield allowed one run and four hits in six innings of work to lead Boston past Washington for its fifth straight victory.

Devil Rays 8, Diamondbacks 5: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Mark Hendrickson threw seven solid innings and Jonny Gomes hit a two-run double to help Tampa Bay beat Arizona.

Tigers 10, Brewers 1: At Milwaukee, rookie Zach Miner pitched his first complete game and Magglio Ordonez hit two of Detroit’s four home runs in a win over Milwaukee.

Yankees 9, Phillies 7: At Philadelphia, Johnny Damon hit a two-run triple in the eighth inning to help New York overcome Ryan Howard’s two homers and seven RBIs in a win over Philadelphia.

Blue Jays 6, Braves 5: At Atlanta, Reed Johnson homered and had three hits to help Toronto extend Atlanta’s longest losing streak (eight) in 17 years.

Twins 6, Astros 5 (10): At Houston, Justin Morneau led off the 10th inning with a home run, as Minnesota beat the Astros to extend its winning streak to eight games.

Padres 6, Rangers 5: At Arlington, Texas, Mike Cameron hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the sixth inning, and Trevor Hoffman earned his 17th save to help San Diego beat Texas.

Rockies 6, Athletics 0: At Denver, Jason Jennings and two relievers combined on a one-hitter in Colorado’s win over Oakland.
