LC senior named trainer of year

Maureen Miller, a senior at Lewis and Clark High School, was named Student Trainer of the Year at a recent Spokane Regional Sports Commission awards luncheon. Miller has been a trainer for the LC football team for three seasons. With the award, she received a $500 scholarship from the commission and the Rockwood Clinic.

Melissa Pavey of Spokane, and Angela Lucas of Veradale have been named to the Washington State University fall honor roll. Their names were omitted in a press release.

• Allyson Turner of Spokane has been named to the fall dean’s list at Baylor University, Texas. Students must earn a grade-point average of 3.7 or above to be eligible for the list.

• Danielle Ferguson has been named to the fall dean’s list at Tufts University, Boston. She is a graduate of Mt. Spokane High School.

• Emily Tremaine of Spokane has been named to the fall dean’s list at Clark University, Mass. Students must hold a grade-point average of 3.8 or above to be named to the list. Tremaine is a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School.

Army Pvt. Kody Domina recently graduated from the small arms/artillery repairer advanced individual training course at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. Domina, the son of Kieth and Joanne Domina of Ritzville, Wash., is a 2005 graduate of Ritzville High School.

• Army National Guard Pvt. Michael King recently graduated from basic military training at Fort Sill, Okla. He is the son of James King of Spokane.

• Air Force Cadet Kevin Mulligan has been named to the dean’s list at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Cadets must earn a grade-point average of 3.0 or better to be eligible for the list. Mulligan, the son of Kevin and Cyndi Mulligan of Valley, Wash., is a graduate of Jenkins High School in Chewelah, Wash.

• Air Force Airman 1st Class Sara Fitzpatrick recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Fitzpatrick is the daughter of Terrence Fitzpatrick of Wenatchee and Sue Fitzpatrick of Mead. She is a 1998 graduate of Mead High School and a 2005 graduate of Eastern Washington University.

• Three Spokane residents have been named to the fall dean’s list at Eastern Oregon University. They are Heidi Horobiowski, Luke Orlando and Whitney Parker. Students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher to be named to the list.
