Kings top Wild, run win streak to five
Lubomir Visnovsky scored 1 minute, 21 seconds into overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings their fifth straight victory, 3-2 over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night in St. Paul, Minn.
Jeremy Roenick and Tom Kostopoulos also scored for the Kings, who have won all five games in the streak by one goal.

Lightning 5, Penguins 4 (SO): At Pittsburgh, Brad Richards and Vinny Prospal beat goalie Marc-Andre Fleury on consecutive shots in a shootout and Tampa Bay slipped past the Penguins.

Islanders 2, Devils 1 (SO): At Uniondale, N.Y., Miroslav Satan and Trent Hunter beat Martin Brodeur in a shootout for the second time in six days, lifting New York over New Jersey.
Sabres 3, Bruins 2: At Buffalo, N.Y., Jochen Hecht broke a tie late in the second period and Daniel Briere had two assists as the Sabres topped Boston.
Predators 3, Flames 2: At Calgary, Alberta, David Legwand scored twice, and Greg Johnson added the deciding short-handed goal midway through the second period in Nashville’s victory.
Stars 4, Oilers 3 (SO): At Edmonton, Alberta, Jussi Jokinen and Sergei Zubov scored in a shootout to give Dallas its ninth victory without a loss in the NHL’s new tiebreaker format.

Hockey Hall of Famer Bernie “Boom Boom” Geoffrion was diagnosed with stomach cancer during recent surgery in Atlanta, the Montreal Gazette reported today. … Blues forwards Ryan Johnson and Vladimir Orszagh will be sidelined three to four weeks – Johnson with a broken foot and Orszagh with a knee injury. … Lightning forward Evgeny Artyukhin was suspended for two games after hitting Antoine Vermette with the Ottawa forward’s own helmet on Sunday. … Steve Moore filed court papers in Vancouver, British Columbia, against Todd Bertuzzi, alleging assault and battery and giving the former Avalanche player the option to bring another lawsuit against the Canucks forward. Moore contends he sustained physical and psychological injuries and continues to suffer from the injuries Bertuzzi inflicted during a game in 2004.
