Vandals fall at WAC tourney

RENO, Nev. – Aarica Ray-Boyd led a balanced scoring attack with 18 points to lead the 17th-ranked Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters to an 80-57 quarterfinal victory over the Idaho Vandals at the Western Athletic Conference tournament.

Tasha Williams chipped in with 17 points and nine assists while Ty Moore had 13 points and Shan Moore 12.

The Lady Techsters will face tournament host Nevada on Saturday in the second semifinal. Boise State faces New Mexico State in the first semifinal.

Leilani Mitchell had 21 points, five rebounds and seven assists to lead Idaho in all three categories.

Emily Faurholt added 14 points, while Karly Felton and Jessica Summers had 10 apiece.
