Residents warned of faulty fire alarms
Kootenai County Fire and Rescue is urging residents to check fire alarms after reported problems with certain smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
First Alert OneLink wireless alarms are having problems with batteries draining within weeks of installation, according to a news release.
The fire district said anyone who has one of the alarms – models SA500, SA520 or SCO500 – should contact the seller for information on replacing it. Renters should report the problem to landlords, the release said.
Anyone with questions is asked to contact Jim Lyon or Larry Boatwright at (208) 676-8739.
