Encourage a child with a letter

The Spokesman-Review

On Thursday, Camp Fire USA wants adults across the country to write letters of support and encouragement to children in their lives, or to any child who might need encouragement. The annual event is deemed Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.

This will be Camp Fire’s 10th Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.

Organizers encourage adults to find a way to make sure the children in their lives receive letters. They suggest leaving them on pillows, mailing them so they arrive on Thursday, sticking them in lunch boxes or even e-mailing them.

“The idea is simple. The time investment is minimal. The results are long-lasting,” Lee Taylor, executive director of Camp Fire USA Inland Northwest Council said in a press release. “A letter can be so powerful and such a positive force in a child’s life – and it’s an extremely rewarding and emotional experience for the letter writer as well.”
