Anita Kelsey describes herself as an avid “garage sale and estate sale lady.” She hits a sale whenever she can

“I can smell the sale miles away,” she says.

Kelsey likes to look for new items to add to her collection of Lefton and Norcrest bluebirds. “My collection started about three years ago at a yard sale,” she says. “I found one of the little birds and was hooked.”

Kelsey found several of her birds at estate sales around Spokane and the rest were found online at eBay. She has recently started branching out and now she looks for the figurines in other colors.

Kelsey displays her collection of bluebird figures in the bedroom of her Spokane home.

“They are in my bedroom and every morning I see them,” she says. “I just have to smile.”
