Celtic Nots playing at CenterStage

The Spokane-based acoustic band Celtic Nots will play a St. Patrick’s Day dinner concert Sunday at CenterStage, 1017 W. First Ave.

The group draws from the folk traditions of England, Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, Galicia and the United States, seasoned with Middle Eastern, jazz and rock influences and a liberal dose of humor.

Doors open Sunday at 5:30 p.m., with dinner service at 6 and the show at 7. Tickets are $39 for dinner and show, $19 for show only, available through the CenterStage box office (747-8243) and TicketsWest outlets (325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com).

British brass

The Spokane British Brass Band will present a concert titled “Valvelocity” on Friday in Coeur d’Alene and on Sunday in Spokane.

The program features soloists Jim Phillips (cornet), Kit Cutler (euphonium) and Jim Markley (tenor horn), along with the premiere of “Rush Street Tarantella,” an arrangement by tuba player Tim Rundquist.

Concerts are Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene High School and Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Spokane Falls Community College Music Building Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, through TicketsWest or at the door; children and students are admitted free.
