Water project will affect Inland Empire Way

The city’s first major construction project of the 2006 season begins this week.

Crews will start work at Ninth Avenue and Inland Empire Way on the Westside Water Main Project. Crews will install a water main from Inland Empire Way and Ninth Avenue to Third Avenue and Maple Street.

A detour will take drivers off Inland Empire Way onto Seventh Avenue, up to Sixth Avenue and onto Walnut Street. Parking will be forbidden on part of detour route.

Street bond funds will join with water project money to complete the roadway restoration from curb to curb.

A public meeting will be held weekly to answer any questions regarding the project. The meetings will be at 8 a.m. Fridays at Global Credit Union at Third and Ash, in the basement conference room.
