‘Weeds to Grasses’ classes set

“Weeds to Grasses” classes are being offered by Washington State University Spokane County Extension for landowners to learn how to maintain or improve nonlandscaped areas and prevent undesirable weeds.

Class schedule:

•Monday: “Improve Pasture for Weed Control,” instructor Jim Cavender, Northwest Custom Farming

•Wednesday: “Identify and Manage Noxious Weeds,” instructor Dave Mundt, Spokane County Noxious Weed Board

•Next Thursday: “Manage Grazing for Healthy and Competitive Forage Plants,” Tom Platt, WSU Extension

All classes are from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. in rooms A and B at the Spokane County Extension Education Center, 222 N. Havana St. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served.

The cost is $5 per class or $10 for all three if registration is received by Monday. A $5 late fee will be charged at the door.

•The Manito/Cannon Hill Neighborhood Council meets at 7 tonight at Wilson Elementary School, 911 W. 25th Ave.

Spokane City Town Hall meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone St.
