Zags role models
I have rarely seen the true spirit of team work that I have had the pleasure of watching this season with Gonzaga. This was the most unselfish, well-balanced and determined sports team that I have seen in a long, long time. With each and every game, another well-coached phase of this team would emerge. Throughout the season, virtually every player stepped up to create yet another cohesive unit whenever called upon and I was amazed to watch it happen game after game. A true testament to Coach Few’s brilliant insight and superior management skills.
As a diehard Zags fan, as a member of our community and as a parent, it killed me to watch these fine young men, that we have all come to know so well as great players, have to go through such stunningly raw pain. Believe me fellas, I can’t possibly begin to know what you’re feeling, but as for myself, I just about cried. Not because we “lost a game,” but because of you. Your remarkably unselfish individual efforts and your genuine spirit of teamwork was something that my son and I have been able to look up to, and truly enjoy throughout this incredible season. You are all excellent role models in showing our kids what being a “team” really means.
