Spokane Public Schools budget workshop – The public is invited to learn about the 2006-2007 operating budget, 7 p.m. Thursday at Glover Middle School, 2404 W. Longfellow; 354-7338.

Doll show and sale – The Lilac City Doll Club hosts the event with antique and modern dolls and accessories, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Spokane Community College, 1810 N. Greene. Admission is $3, children 12 and under are admitted free; 466-5322.

Nature photography – Local wildlife photographer Rich Leon will show examples of his work and discuss techniques for shooting good nature photographs, 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge’s Education Center. Participants may also bring a lunch and stay for an afternoon hike to photograph flowers and wildlife; donations will be accepted; 359-7050.

AIDS issues – Spokane AIDS Network Executive Director Susan Fabrikant will speak on the issues and challenges of AIDS, 7 p.m. Monday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive. The discussion is hosted by the United Nations Association-Spokane; 624-3608.
