Greater Spokane League: Gonzaga Prep and Central Valley will play for the sixth and final District 8 4A playoff berth at 1 p.m. today at University High. The Bullpups and Bears tied with 8-10 records. G-Prep beat CV 7-0 in their one meeting during the Greater Spokane League season. District 8 play begins with two loser-out games Wednesday at Avista Stadium between the third-through-sixth place GSL finishers, beginning at 4 p.m.

Great Northern League: Cody Yecha went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and three runs scored Friday as Colville routed host Lakeside 16-4 to open a doubleheader at Nine Mile Falls. In the nightcap, Colville (13-6, 12-6) rallied from a six-run deficit to score 14 runs in the third inning, en route to a 21-8 win in five innings. Scott Richards and Rylin Dukes homered for the Eagles (11-8, 11-7). … Justin Propeck hit a two-run double in the fourth inning, and Medical Lake rallied from six runs down to defeat visiting Pullman 7-6 to open a doubleheader. In the nightcap, J.T. Levenseller threw a seven-hitter with five strikeouts as Pullman (14-6, 12-6) won 8-2 and forced a three-way tie with Medical Lake (13-7, 12-6) and Colville for first place. … Derek Proszek struck out 17 batters in a five-hitter to lead Chewelah (4-16, 4-14) to a 4-1 win over visiting Deer Park. In the nightcap, Lane Erskine threw a six-hitter with six strikeouts as Deer Park (1-19, 1-17) earned its first win of the season, 4-2, in the Stags’ final game.

Boys soccer

Ian Matson scored Mead’s fourth shootout goal to give the Panthers a 1-0 victory over Central Valley (10-8) in a District 8 4A loser-out game at Whitworth College. Jason Gass had two saves in the shootout for Mead (13-3), which will face the winner of today’s Pasco/Eastmont game in the 4A Eastern Regional on Tuesday.

Softball

Greater Spokane League: Alex Cey had two hits, including a solo home run, and Mead (10-8, 10-8) rallied in the seventh inning to defeat host Clarkston 8-7. Tara Ruark had two hits and a homer for the Bantams (11-8, 10-8). … Tonya Schnibbe and Alexis Obenchain were each 2 for 3 with two RBIs as University (16-3, 16-2) routed host North Central (12-6, 12-6) 12-2 in five innings to wrap up the second seed to the District 8 4A tournament. NC is the No. 1 seed to the District 8 3A. … Morgan Manchester hit a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning to give East Valley a 4-3 victory over visiting Lewis and Clark (3-15, 3-15). Ashley Ormsby had three hits for the Knights (5-14, 4-14), who clinched a District 8 3A playoff spot. … Robin Conrad and China Frost each had three RBIs, and Shadle Park completed its perfect regular season with a 15-0 victory over host West Valley in five innings. Sam Skillingstad threw a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts for the Highlanders (19-0, 18-0), who eliminated the Eagles (2-17, 2-16) from playoff contention. … Kristina DeMello threw a two-hitter and also hit a two-run triple to lead Mt. Spokane to a 4-1 victory over host Cheney (4-15, 4-13). Kori Holcomb had three hits and scored twice for the Wildcats (13-5, 13-5). … Shannon Carlon finished 3 for 4 with two runs scored as Rogers defeated host Central Valley (14-4, 14-4) 4-0. Cassie Parker struck out four and threw a two-hitter for the Pirates (13-6, 12-6).

Great Northern League: Richelle Daily had two hits and two RBIs to lead Medical Lake to a 13-0 victory over host Deer Park (1-9) in five innings to open a doubleheader. Carey Cambell finished 4 for 4 with four RBIs for the Cardinals (6-4) in the second game, a 16-0 victory in four innings.
