Fundraiser will aid Special Olympics
Make a donation to the Special Olympics today and receive a free dozen original glazed doughnuts from Krispy Kreme.
The Cop-On-Top Fundraiser will take place at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, at 15401 E. Indiana Ave., Spokane Valley, and will include the participation of the Kalispel Tribal Police Department, the Spokane Police Department and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department.
Corporations or individuals who donate $1,000 or more will receive a complimentary Krispy Kreme Doughnut party.

Auction for health
Join the Native American Treatment, Intervention and Education Project and NATIVE Health Clinic of Spokane for their annual benefit auction and dinner at Northern Quest Casino on Saturday.
The event will feature entertainment by traditional Native American flute player Loren Swan and Native American comedian Mitch Factor.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the auction starts at 6 and dinner will be served at 6:30.
N.A.T.I.V.E. Project and NATIVE Health Spokane provide help for families with addiction, mental health, housing, prevention, medical and pharmacy services.

Mother’s Day bake sale
Buy your mom something as sweet as she is at the Has Beens and Gonna Bees bake sale.
Proceeds from Saturday’s sale will benefit Christmas Cheer Day 2006, a celebration held at the Northeast Community Center open to low-income families and disabled or elderly people in the Spokane area.
The sweet concoctions will be available at Kmart, 6606 N. Division St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Auction for a healthy heart
A benefit raffle and silent auction will be held for a local 21-month-old boy at Mirabeau Chapel, 3001 N. Pines Road.
Carson Wilkinson Jr. was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome before he was born. Proceeds from Saturday’s event will be used for his third open-heart surgery, planned in Michigan this September.

Student music fund-raiser
Have winter washed off your car on Saturday, and benefit the Lewis and Clark High School Band and Orchestra.
The automobile spring cleaning will be in front of the field house of the high school, 521 W. Fourth Ave. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost is $5. All proceeds will benefit the music program at LC.
