Guitarist Leon Atkinson will present a Mother’s Day dinner concert Sunday at CenterStage, 1017 W. First Ave.

Atkinson, who heads the guitar department at Gonzaga University, will perform works by Bach, Granados, Villa Lobos and Albenez, along with pieces by American composers including Sondheim, Gershwin and Arlen.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. for a dinner and cocktails, with the show at 6:30. Tickets are $39 for dinner and show, $19 show only; call (509) 747-8243.

Masters of Brass

The Spokane British Brass Band will close its 2005-06 season Tuesday with its seventh annual “Masters of Brass” concert spotlighting local youth performers.

Featured students include David Ross, a home-schooled sixth-grade trombone player from the Central Valley area; Zac Slovarp, a West Valley High School senior, on euphonium; Marina Gresham, a Cheney High School senior, on trombone; and Mead High School senior Lukas Bratcher, on euphonium.
