Maxim has got Eva fever
Eva Longoria tops Maxim’s “Hot 100” list of the most successful women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion for the second year in a row.
It’s the first time in the list’s seven years that the magazine has picked a repeat winner.
”(T)o get it a second time in a row – I just couldn’t believe it,” says the 31-year-old “Desperate Housewives” actress. “I was like, ‘Surely there are more beautiful women in the world.’ I can name 10.”
The magazine said all of the women on the list have several things in common, including “a tremendous amount of buzz surrounding them, undeniable beauty and a promise of greater things to come.”
Jessica Alba is No. 2, followed by Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie, Stacy Keibler (“Dancing With the Stars”), Scarlett Johansson, Cameron Diaz, Kate Bosworth, Keira Knightley and singer-actress Christina Milian.
The list also includes Nicollette Sheridan (No. 48) and Teri Hatcher (No. 73).
“I would have voted all of our ‘Housewives’ on the list,” Longoria says.
What does her boyfriend, San Antonio Spurs basketball star Tony Parker, make of it all?
“Oh, he’s very proud,” she says. “He thinks he’s with a beautiful girl every day, so for him, it’s, you know, someone else solidifying what he already thinks.”
Johnny’s not sign bored
Johnny Depp has the write stuff when it comes to signing autographs while Cameron Diaz is the worst, according to a new list from Autograph Collector magazine.
Depp, followed by George Clooney, topped the magazine’s 14th annual survey of Hollywood’s best and worst signers. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star also was rated best last year.
“He’s even signed autographs for crowds at the airport while carrying luggage,” said Steve Cyrkin, editor and publisher of the Santa Ana, Calif.-based magazine.
As for Diaz, he says: “Instead of just turning down a person’s autograph request, she’ll lecture them about how dumb autographs are.”
Definitely a flight risk
Police arrested rapper DMX after he refused to put on a seat belt and became abusive on a flight from New York to London.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, received a caution and was released after his American Airlines flight landed at Heathrow Airport on Saturday, police said.
The 35-year-old rapper completed a 70-day sentence late last year in New York City after pleading guilty to violating his parole following a 2004 incident in which he crashed his sport utility vehicle through an airport security gate.
He’s grown sage over time
Art Garfunkel made up for last summer’s arrest for marijuana possession in Woodstock, N.Y., by speaking to students at two local high schools about keeping a healthy lifestyle.
It was the second time in less than two years that Garfunkel, 64, was arrested for having pot in Ulster County. He paid up the first time, but avoided a $100 fine this time by giving the talks.
“He was sincere, thoughtful and impressive,” said District Attorney Donald Williams.
Pearls of wisdom
