Backpacking/Orienteering

Canoeing/Kayaking

Cycling

May 21: Beacon Blowout downhill mountain bike race at Camp Sekani, located on Upriver Drive. Open to all ages. May 20 will be a practice day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Practice will resume May 21 from 8-9:30 a.m., with races commencing at 10. Info: Tim Arnold, 328-7475 and Eric Ewing, 242-8568.

May 26-29: Okanagan Wine Tour, to British Columbia wineries by day and sleep at an inn near Skaha Lake at night, organized by Spokane Parks and Recreation. Cost: $339.

Football

Golf

June 9: North Idaho College annual golf tournament held in memory of Scott Hague, 1 p.m. at Avondale Golf Club. Cost: $100 for individuals or $375 for four-person teams, which includes cart rental, dinner provided by Outback Steakhouse and a Cardinal Classic shirt. Entry deadline: May 31. Multievent sports

June 17: Downtown YMCA Plunge-Pedal-Plod and kids triathlons, 8 and 11 a.m. at Witter Pool at Mission Park. Plunge-Pedal-Plod triathlon consists of 500-meter swim, 11-mile bike and 3.5-mile run. Kids triathlon varies by age group. Preregistration deadline June 1. Fees: $25 Y-Members, $30 non-members (Plunge-Pedal-Plod); $10 Y-Members, $15 non-members (kids). Nature
