Fun run benefits pet rescue

Second Chance Pet Rescue will hold its ninth annual 5K Fun Run/Walk on June 11 to raise money for the no-kill, nonprofit cat and dog rescue run by a small group of volunteers.

The event begins at 9:30 a.m. at Farragut State Park in Athol.

The entry fee is $8 per person, $15 to get a souvenir T-shirt. Participants can walk or run, and everyone is encouraged to bring a dog! All ages are welcome, and dogs must be on a leash.

The registration deadline to get a T-shirt is Thursday. Late registration is available on race day starting at 8:30 a.m.
