Swimsuit drive being held by Parks Foundation

The Spokesman-Review

Here’s a chance to a make a splash this summer and feel good about it.

The Spokane Parks Foundation is holding a swimsuit drive for kids whose families can’t afford them. All public pools require those who attend wear proper swimwear. Kids who show up in shorts or cutoffs, for example, are turned away.

“Spokane has a long tradition of summer swimming, and we want it to be inclusive to all kids in our community,” a press release from the Parks Foundation states.

Monetary donations can be made at the foundation office, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. Or, you can donate a new swimsuit at one of these locations: East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone St.; Northeast Community Center, 4001 N. Cook St.; or West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt St. Swimsuits will be available for pickup after June 15 on a first-come, first-served basis at the community centers.
